Saltwater Tournament Fishing

Salt Water Tournament Fishing

Team LMC was formed for one reason – to further our success in saltwater trout and redfish tournaments and to make us more marketable. Team LMC offers a sponsor something unique. While most fishermen are looking for a sponsorship for themselves, we are offering a four-man team. Fishing in the United States represents a $115 Billion dollar industry and our team concept offers a sponsor an instant presence in a quickly growing sport.

Tournament fishing is a passion. Just like any other sport, To succeed you must be passionate a bout it. This is why we fish, why Team LMC was formed and why it is an excellent opportunity for a sponsor.

Saltwater tournament fishing, in general, is a whole other experience from just “going fishing.” First, it requires days and weeks of pre-fishing (practice) in a particular venue’s area. Secondly, it can require an extensive amount of travel. A Bass tournament can happen in a relatively small geographical area. Saltwater tournaments might require you to be in Florida one weekend and on the Texas coast the next. This can be a benefit, however, in terms of exposure for a sponsor. Third, at the level in which Team LMC competes, almost all tournaments are televised. In freshwater fishing, you typically do not see this unless it is a B.A.S.S. or FLW event because of the number of tournaments held. To be a title sponsor of an angler at that level would cost close to half million dollars with multi-year contracts. For example, Bill Dance and Jimmy Houston, pro-bass fishermen, both earn in excess of $4 Million/year from product endorsements. Fourth, tournament saltwater fishing is in its infancy. It is exploding, however, in a big way. The tournaments that are starting now are considered Top-Tier events which mean many of them are now closed to new entries. To enter the ESPN Redfish Cup for instance, you now must qualify at a lower level. Team LMC offers a sponsor an opportunity to get involved at a top level they might not normally be able to afford.

In closing, saltwater fishing today is where Bass fishing was ten years ago. Fortunately, redfish tournaments will not take as long to reach the same levels of popularity. The coastal fishing community has a roadmap of where we’d like to go. Freshwater fishing has already charted much of the course for us and showed us the amazing potential. Your sponsorship can help us reach that potential together.

Promising Future

Since Team LMC's inception, it has had tremendous success for itself and its sponsors. LMC Marine Center alone has experienced an estimated 15% increase in its shallow water bay boat business since its involvement.

The Team anglers have had great success on the water as well. The team of Vollentine/Christian won Gulf Coast Troutmasters Anglers of the Year for 2004 and over $30,000.00 in prize money. The team of Frazier/Paradoski fished the ESPN Redfish Cup for 2004 with a respectable overall finish and are in 3rd Place overall after two tournaments in the Redfish Q Series.
